Dnepropetrovsk. Must-see places.
Transfiguration Cathedral
Transfiguration cathedral is probably the most beautiful and old church in the entire city. According to plans foreseen in the late 18th century, the Transfiguration Cathedral should have been the biggest in the world – even bigger than St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome! This huge project was never achieved though. A Cathedral 6 times smaller than planned was finally built between 1830 and 1835. It is said that the fence which surrounds the cathedral today represents the size of the original project. It is the right place to visit if you want to see what an Orthodox church is like and get acquainted with Ukrainian religious peculiarities. No matter how religious your
Russian woman
is, she will be happy to take you to this place so that you discover a part of traditional Ukrainian culture.
The Central Bridge
A wide and beautiful Dnepr River divides the city into two parts. The center of business and commerce is located on the right bank of the Dnepr River but by crossing the 2 kilometers long central bridge, you will discover the best view of the city, especially during sunset. In summer, the left bank beaches are also popular places where locals like to enjoy a barbecue and escape from the busy city center.
Globa park
As soon as the weather is good enough, Globa Park is the easiest way to escape from the urban atmosphere and relax. The 50 hectares park is named after Lazar Globa. He was a Cossack and once retired, became a great gardener with a large plot of land. He is also considered the founder of another major city park – Shevchenko Park.
Located in the center of the city along Karl Marx Avenue, Globa Park is one if the most popular places to spend free time with friends. It is also one of the most romantic places in the entire city so it will be a good idea to take your
Russian girl
to this park. But under one condition: the weather must be good enough.

What can be more romantic than an evening walk along a green and beautiful embankment holding hands with your special
Russian woman!

Illuminated by numerous lights and filled with thick aroma of flowers and trees, it is a place where locals go to enjoy a light warm breeze from the river, smell fresh air and have dinner in one of the many nice cafes and restaurants located on the river front.

Lenin square
In the central square of the city, the statue of Lenin is squeezed between the surrounding advertisements and billboards. Behind the former Soviet leader’s profile stand the orthodox crosses of the nearby Troysky Church. Across the street from the Lenin statue stretches the most popular meeting place in the city – European square. There is where young people get together in the evenings and on the weekends. It is where you should go to feel the spirit of the city and enjoy the atmosphere of happiness and laughter.
Bryansky Church
In 1913, in honor of the Romanov Family who were the rulers of the Russian Empire, a decision was made to build a new church. It was achieved by taxing the salaries earned by workers of the surrounding Bryansk plant. During the USSR period, the Bryansky Church hosted among others, the house of the famous Soviet “Pioneers”. Severely damaged over time, it was finally restored during the 1980s and transformed into a music hall for organ and chamber music.
